MOM Brands Adds Two New Varieties to Three Sisters Cereal Line

MINNEAPOLIS (September 5, 2012) – MOM Brands has announced the addition of two new varieties, Multigrain Berry and Multigrain Cinnamon shredded wheat cereals, to its Three Sisters cereal line.

Free of artificial flavors or preservatives, Three Sisters offers a robust line of affordable and hearty breakfast cereals. The new Multigrain Berry and Multigrain Cinnamon varieties boast 43 grams of whole grains per serving with no saturated fat, trans fat or cholesterol. Both flavors also carry the 100% Whole Grains stamp from the Whole Grains Council.

These whole grain shredded wheat cereals are also made with whole grain oats, whole grain barley and whole grain triticale (a cross between wheat and rye with higher levels of essential amino acids), which adds up to a more nutritiously balanced and great tasting frosted shredded wheat cereal.

“We’re always looking for better ways to provide consumers with better breakfast options, which means giving consumers a wide selection of tasty and affordable cereal,” said Linda Fisher, director of corporate communications. “Three Sisters is also a smart cereal choice that’s more sustainable for the environment as our cereal is packaged in bags instead of boxes. That’s 75 percent less consumer packaging compared to comparably sized boxed cereals with an interior liner bag.” Learn more at

In addition, MOM Brands purchases wind energy credits to offset 100 percent of the electricity used to make Three Sisters cereal.

The Three Sisters full line includes eight additional varieties: Cinnamon Sweets®, Graham Crackerz, Honey Oaties®, Honey Puffs, Sweet Wheat®, Marshmallow Oaties®, Cocoa-Snapz, and Naked Wheat. Three Sisters is available at Whole Foods Market stores across the U.S.

Three Sisters partners with TerraCycle®, an international recycling company, to turn cereal bags into useful products and support schools in the process. For every Three Sisters bag sent to TerraCycle, $.02 is contributed to the designated charity or school of choice.
